Meet the Seller
Casey began collecting trading cards with his 9 and 10 year-old sons, rediscovering the thrill of pack opening together. After the boys suggested he launch a Whatnot shop, Krunk_cards was born.
Now, a seven-figure business, they’re known for their authentic, transparent, and family-driven shows—and are a community favorite wax shop rooted in shared passion of the Hobby.
Journey to Whatnot
A childhood collector, Casey’s passion was reignited when his son was given a pack of football cards—he felt that same thrill for the first time in 20 years—the whole family was immediately hooked.
What began as a simple hobby soon grew into a shared project. As their collection expanded, Casey’s sons suggested he sell singles on Whatnot.
Casey and his wife hesitated at first—busy schedules and limited time left little room for a side project.
But with past experience building online businesses, Casey understood the potential of community-driven platforms and decided it was worth exploring.
“Taking that extra step to take care of your customer is a big priority to us—that’s how we’ve grown.”
- Casey, Founder, Krunk_cards
Early beginnings on Whatnot
They were drawn by Whatnot’s flexibility—they could choose when to go live and what to sell, fitting it around their busy family schedule.
Casey saw Whatnot as a unique kind of business he could “switch on and off” depending on family commitments
Their first shows were run from home with minimal setup but plenty of enthusiasm—focused on being authentic, having fun, and connecting with fellow collectors.
Those early streams quickly built community through late-night hangouts and shared card nostalgia.
After streaming for a few months, they took a break from selling to focus on other priorities.
They sold hundreds of singles each month, going live just a few hours a week before taking a break.
“When I look at Whatnot now, a person that wants to start selling the product would be pretty crazy not to jump on that growth curve.”
- Casey, Founder, Krunk_cards
“You’ll never feel fully confident in your shows, there’s always room to improve, but you can’t improve if you don’t keep going live”
- Casey, Founder, Krunk_cards
Returning to Whatnot
They relaunched in May 2025 and doubled down, pivoting from casual singles shows to a structured rip-and-ship format.
After committing, the business skyrocketed—followers grew from 1,000 to 22,000 in under five months, quickly putting them on track to break $1M in revenue within months of relaunching.
As they grew, Casey focused on scaling fulfillment and inventory—developing relationships with distributors to secure allocation and hiring three employees to support with operations.
Their commitment to consistent streaming drove growth—to thousands of items per month through rip-and-ship format.
Their family-first, honest approach earned loyal buyers who value transparency and consistency—some even say they prefer watching Krunk shows over TV, even if they’re not buying.
They see other sellers as friends, not competition — raiding shows, sharing tips, and hanging out in chat. Casey says that support helps their channel grow faster by being part of a community that roots for each other.
“People always ask me how to get started on Whatnot:—and I always tell them the same thing: just push the live button. Don’t overthink it, go for it.”
